Dustland’s next seasonal mission is a Dustcap-created way to extra chances at Floppy Disks, even more for Ape Pass holders — and some general holiday cheer.
What’s FDBD, you ask? It’s Dustland’s next seasonal mission and it was created For Dustcaps By Dustcaps. And because it’s that time of the year and all the holidays are upon us, what better way is there to celebrate that than with a festive event in Dustland.
As you run through the desolate wasteland, you’ll come across festive decorations, snow-covered trees, and even a few jolly creatures. If you’re lucky, you might even spot Santa himself doing the rounds throughout Dustland and giving away Floppy Disks.
The Holiday Mission
Sketchy’s on the case, and she’s excited by the transmissions that she’s received. A lot of warmth. Dustcaps are never alone because we have each other saving the world one delivery at a time.
From today to December 29 2pm UTC+8, log your daily run with the special Christmas Dustland mission. This mission will run for a limited time, so get started early so that you don’t miss your chance to hear your own transmission audio sent out across Dustland, as well as hear greetings from your fellow Dustcaps.
What’s so special about this mission? Other than giving you a chance to share the joy of the festive season the missions will be a way to get your hands on things we know you love:
Christmas Mission
- Twice the chances to get a Floppy Disk per roll
- Time to grind for Straws and Rubber
Operation Ape Missions
- Four times the chances to get a Floppy Disk per roll
Not too late if you want to get an Operation Ape Pass now: https://bit.ly/OpenSeaApePass
Why Floppy Disks?
Remember that hashtag that was going around, #onlypain? Well, hopefully some of you did in fact “get gains” and not “only pain” over the past month and found yourself with a Floppy Disk. With your Floppy you can get to crafting your first gear, a shoe to get you around Dustland — or to have to run around at Christmas! After all, it’s a fine looking shoe.
If you got yourself a Floppy Disk, that’s great. If you forgot what the magic ingredients were in crafting your shoe, you can check out this reminder for all the recipes. Your shoe will be a valuable way to increase your Gear Score, and increase your $DOSE rewards. We said Dustland Runner would be about utility and we meant it. There are more utilities to come!
If you’re new to Dustland we’ve got you covered. Head on over to this Medium article and read up on the basics of the game. It’s a great tutorial for getting all the info you need to get started and begin your adventure in Dustland!
Doubling The Fun
But the Christmas and holiday cheer doesn’t stop there. We’re also running special holiday Crew3 quests for those of us who might need a little extra activity after Christmas. Probably to start burning off the extra calories those irresistible seasonal treats put on us. No judgment. We’re right there with you.
Climb to the top of the leaderboard for a chance at prizes, Ape Passes, and the hotly sought after Memeland Waitlist code!
