Ride in the 3D virtual landscape of Dustland and complete interactive cycling-based missions
OliveX’s second move-and-earn game, Dustland Rider, has arrived. Like its sister game, Dustland Runner, Rider operates within the Fitness Metaverse and adds to the story-driven adventure game ecosystem supported by the DOSE token. Only this time you play from your bike. Connect your indoor bike with your Android phone or PC, put on your headphones or turn on your speaker and immerse yourself in the Dustland saga.
Fitness is a journey, rather than a destination. It works when you work at it, so it only makes sense for us to release early. Dustland Rider is in its Alpha stage, where players can get a taste of what we want to build, and offer feedback so that we can craft an experience that everyone will love and that responds to the needs of the community.
Table of Contents
The Operation Ape Pass is key to unlocking what’s in this release of the Alpha box.
- Connect a smart trainer via bluetooth and ride in a 3D virtual landscape
- 3-part episode/story to ride through, plus a bonus route to explore
- Professional cutscene audio and imagery
- Pickup loot items in your journey and unlock the secrets of Dustland
If you don’t have a Pass yet, grab one at OpenSea: https://bit.ly/OpenSeaApePass (The Ape Pass is on the ETH chain. Contract: 0x3B2f1189b9372c4B6C569a497ad241112d8824c1)
The in-game DOSE reward system will be introduced in the next phase of game development, we want to get the core game going first. The current schedule has us releasing three story missions and two extra riding routes quarterly, followed by the Beta Release in 12 months.
We plan for the full version to have a full season of story missions, with four different maps and multiple riding routes at various difficulty levels to explore!

Setting up your bike
Dustland Rider is an online game, so you will need stable Internet/Wi-Fi at all times. We recommend a minimum bandwidth of 3Mbps.
Compatible bike models:
- The most important thing to check is whether or not your bike trainer has a power or speed sensor. Smart bikes from Stages and Wahoo are tested and proven compatible.

2. For street bikes, the two things you will need are:
A thru-axle (TA) to attach the bike to the trainer so that it’s fixed on the ground.
An external speed sensor that you can attach to your bike’s rear wheel to monitor your performance
Step-by-step set up tutorial: Tacx classic wheel-on trainer
Always check your bike manual for safety advice and compatibility for indoor riding.
Other equipment (optional) that you can connect to your bike to enhance your game experience:
- Heart Rate Sensor: To better understand your progress it is advised to have a heart rate monitor.
- Cadence Sensor: To measure your cadence and show how fast you are pedalling.
